No Access, No Problem

No access, no problem.  This new home owner could not understand why her living room floor was wet and getting wetter and started to smell as few days passed. As a new home owner she did not know drain pipes were ran under her floors.  She had no basement nor crawl space in this area, which meant no access for inspection from below.  After a few days she had enough and made the call for a sight inspection with one of our Water Division Managers.   At the time of the inspection by our IICRC Certified Manager (The Institute of Inspection, Cleaning and Restoration Certification) he explained to her the blueprint of her home, also while using a Flir Thermal Imaging Camera he was able to pin point the intrusion area of this contaminated water. In this case emergency water mitigation and dry out was required from the top down.  Due the level of contamination from the drain and weaken sub floor the insurance adjuster instructed us to remove and dispose of her carpet and padding. He then requested we have our rebuild department repair the busted drain pipes and remove the wooden sub floor. Our mitigation team then dried out the areas to normal standards and treat the joists.
