Porous Concrete
Does concrete flooring require mitigation? YES it does. Some people think because the area effected with water damages is a concrete floor no mitigation is required. Concrete is actually very porous and carries a higher moisture content. Therefore concrete flooring does require proper mitigation, the moisture levels within the concrete need to be brought down to its normal dry standard. The water compromising the floor has traveled from above to the floor, any contaminates the water passed through to get to the floor are now on the floor. We will most definitely extract this concrete floor, we will then mop with a disinfectant and place drying equipment. This is when dehumidification is extremely important. As with any water damage the concrete flooring will also be monitored daily to confirm and document the drying process.
