Dirty Bathing

How can bathing become dirty? This glass shower door was improperly installed. The framing was out of alignment causing the door to stay slightly open even when closed; allowing water to travel outside of the shower area when in use. The baseboard eventually became loose. When our client went to inspect as to why the loose baseboard, this is what they saw.  They were concerned about mold, especially black mold which is also known as Stachybotrys chartarum. The compromised area with SMG (suspected mold growth) or also called discoloration was able to be treated properly, covered, removed and disposed.  Further inspection showed no other damages behind the wall or under the floor tile. We were able to treat, dry and replace the sheet rock and baseboard the paint.  We also performed an air quality test for our client to show contaminates in the air were normal and posed no health threats.  The shower door was also adjusted properly and did not require liquid nail to keep the door closed.
